And also yes, my sensitivity is almost exactly where you recommend, it might be a bit lower if anything.

Aim for the head, if you don't have the spray patterns down rather try tapping, use terrain to your advantage and know that you don't have to engage in every battle. Sometimes it's better to wait. As I was doing my climb, I got kicked more than once by my teams. I don't know if they were just trolling or genuinely thought I was hacking, but it's more common than you might think, and it doesn't matter how good or bad you are. Several of my newer friends have complained about getting kicked from matches. I think a bigger reason to add it is to make new players familiar with how it works in a competitive setting.

But then you play non prime mm which is literally hell. Had to play couple games there because one of my friends is new and doesn't have prime, literally everything I hate about cs except for griefing teammates, since it was a 5stack, but you get the point. Even so, how the fuck is there no unranked 5v5 yet? People were begging for it before the rank update.

But still, the point was new players don't know how to play regular, match based CS when they hop into matchmaking. Playing DM till you reach lvl2 won't teach you much about team play and positioning. That said, now that casual turned off all chat on voice comms, there's a chan d for learning there. I'd still like to see a bigger focus on community competitive servers, though. It'd be nice if Valve had a better UI for community servers and highlighted community competitive ones.

I do think that unranked matchmaking could be a good idea though. Over 10 months later and here I am again just to say not that anyone will see this: I actually do now support 5v5 Matchmaking, not gonna go into detail as to why, but I do. As someone who is a scientist who studies matchmaking, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls casual mm.

If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you shouldn't either.

They're not the same thing. So your reasoning for calling casual matchmaking is because random people "call the crappy one mm? Also, calling gaming competitive or casual? It's not one or the other, that's not how taxonomy works. Casual is a gamemode and a member of the CSGO family. But that's not what you said. You said a casual is a mm, which is not true unless you're okay with calling all members of the CSGO family 'mm", which means you'd call deathmatch, surf, and other modes mm, too.

Which you said you don't. Can you tell me a bit more about what it means to be a "scientist who studies matchmaking? Hmm, I haven't really seen a rise but, assuming what you've said is true, you can just change server. I suppose that unranked MM might be particularly good then since hackers won't hack if there's no reward; but then again, if they hack on community serves then who knows Three games with three different hackers who did not care to hide what they were doing.

One of them was T side Nuke and would wait outside silo until most of the other Ts were dead and would start shooting CTs through almost every wall. Nuke is very bangable. I wonder if it's because of prime matchmaking. People are getting their jollies off outside of MM now. Can confirm, had 3 blatant cheaters in different retake servers over the past week. Baffled why people would cheat there. Worst is when you don't have quite enough time to plant the bomb fully before the round starts.

I would have to completely disagree with retakes. They're fun, but no one plays like they would in a match. The stakes are so low that everyone is trying to be a hero, pushing, or holding angles you would never really see players in. I agree, plus the scenarios they put you in will never happen in a real game. Bomb planted with all 5 players alive from both sides all with full heslth, spare nades and perfect retake positions from the CTs.

  6. Want to add to the discussion?.

Not to mention the mentality you're in when you play them, totally different from a real game and I just don't see it as being helpful at all. Retakes is fun when everyone on the server is going for the round win. Not so much fun when players are just trying to get a good KDR.

  • There was a posting for the EU for these too which had some sameteem servers in which most of the players have migrated over to JH Community, anyone looking for people to play with etc these are a good group of people: Upvoted for visibility, I think a lot of people don't know they can drop into community competitive servers and play something much closer to MM, without worrying about losing, or even getting kicked by teammates.

Ok, so there is no XP, annoying if you are trying to grind out the levels for Prime or whatever. What if I don't want to practice, I just want to play and have fun. Games aren't about winning for everyone. Casual 5v5 would be a fantastic way for those of us who play for fun to play for fun without being trashed by everyone for trying to enjoy ourselves.

I stopped playing CS a while ago because of this I feel like I need both, DM just gives you the chance to get tonnes of kills in a short space of time, which even retakes don't give you necessarily. Though agree, all my friends I have shown retakes have found it a revelation, and the average skill level is somewhat higher than average. I think my main problem is that the prefires are kinda silly as you know exactly where CTs are pushing, but still, it's great fun and more people should do it maybe not noobs though.

I was actually surprised to see it, I think it's been a while since I saw one on the front page. Or maybe because I don't pay much attention to this sub anymore; I wonder why. If they wanted to play "unranked" 5v5 and still be competitive mind set. Nah it's been getting some hate recently and not hitting the front page, guess we're back to liking it again.

The weekly post about there being frequent posts about unranked matchmaking. It's here all the time because people wanted and Valve is doing nothing about it. Ah, yes the weekly post about weekly post about there being frequent posts about unranked matchmaking. I would consider it more like most games have it, look at LoL for example. It I que into a casual match it's skill based matchmaking. I'm an experienced player who is decent. I get placed with people like me. But if I start a new account, I get placed with other new players untill the matchmaker realizes I'm a probably a smurf and puts me with better matched people.

People are always complaining about smurfing, but unranked 5v5 would have such a big skill gap it would be worst than MM smurfs. How does that help me play with friends who's image is too different from mine and it won't let us queue?

Or friends who get the game to play with me but can't because they need level 3? Casual is far more forgiving to bad players with armor for free and kill rewards reduced. In unranked comp bad players would be put into far worse situations then they would be in casual since they have to buy armor and compared to good players earn far less. It would still do skill based matches though. Like when I play unranked rocket league with my nephew. We get placed above my skill but below his and it's fun. Of all the things this game needs, of all the things that need to be fixed, you think this is something that's needed to be added in?

In my opinion, competitive is exactly what you want. You need everyone to be trying, to feel like something is on the line to gain or lose. This is the real match experience you are seeking.

It's just a picture. All you need to worry about is that you're getting better and beating people that are better.

If you rek a guy that's boasting about having a better rank, the truth is you're better and who gives a fuk about the pictures next to your name. If you start to get really competitive, then you'll see the truth. I somewhat agree, casual is so far from the real thing and then you have competitive. Play both terrorist and much much much much more!
