It's easier than you think
I might be interested in trying it. I've had lots of dates that I wished were over in 8 minutes! I had a couple that 8 mins seemed like a years. The St Louis Singles meetup group is participating in this event too. Ages are 25 to Paul, I appreciate the thoughtful and helpful and I am sure sincere offer but I do not have an interest. Now, if you were talking ping pong, that I am interested in.
On top of that, we had conversations with and got contact info from over others. I think I talked more at Urbana than I normally do in a month. But it was beyond worth it.
Upcoming Singles Events in St. Louis
Next year is definitely going to be our biggest group of interns yet. We hosted a speed dating event. We decided to have fun with that dynamic, acknowledge it, and host speed dating as way of helping people get introduced to each other. No, a match in speed dating was not a commitment. But we did encourage people to relax and actually talk to each other rather than, you know, staring longingly and awkwardly at one another across the exhibit hall.
I helped facilitate and write name tags. Admittedly, I was skeptical. I assumed we would have maybe 20 women show up.
Instead, over singles showed up, pretty much half men and half women. So many people showed up that we had to turn some away. The whole event did last about an hour and a half though, and overall people loved it.
