Once you have your words cut out and ready, it is time to round up the family! Explain to your family that your goal is to create a family mission statement. Talk together as a family about what each person thinks is important for YOUR family. This can bring up so many fun discussions about what your own family priorities are. Have your spouse or kids explain WHY they think certain phrases or words should be included.

Set aside any that don't work with your family, and feel free to add your own ideas on paper to make the list grow.

It will be SO much easier to remember what your family mission statement goals and ideals are when you have it up on display, so make it beautiful! If you want to use one of these, you can find the link to print it for FREE down at the end of this post. The family mission statement you created together may be different than the one we have here, so you can use these as models to create your own in Word or any other document OR you can use the magnet words and add your own family name as a title for them, like a collage.

Simply changing the size and color of the fonts you use and adding a simple border will make a beautiful display of your family mission statement. Just print it out as is, then using Word, type your own family name and send the paper through again. I love that we have our family mission statement up on display, and I also love that we took the time to create it together as a family. I am looking forward to seeing how my kids will use our family mission statement as a guide for their lives.
