I don't know if it's necessary, but I hooked mine up to a ground source anyway I didn't use my ground and haven't had any problems because of it. I see 2 harness Where is the B3 on It should be A3, though, not B3. Also, I used this as well for a remote and it does NOT turn off with the stereo, only with the ignitionaccording to these. You got the wrong schematic there. THIS is the one you need: The 12 pin harness doesn't get reused. Just let it float back there. Finally hooked it up today. I am installing an amp and sub in my car. In preparation I installed an amp kit already. I also installed the FAI-3a, or so I thought. I hooked into the rear speaker wires on both sides.
Then to test it, I simply hooked up a crappy old speaker from a stereo and it didn't work. Is my converter messed up or what!?!?! I took it back and realizes it must have been a return cause the little removable screw driver thing was on my new one and not on the old.

The two products are identical except for the model number. Usually a car stereo speakers are high volume out puts and it can damage the sound distortion at the time to connect an amplifier so the best way with less distortion is hooking up this device to low the volume and get a clean sound to be amplified.

I do have the directions but still not for sure cause it shows hooking up Perhaps you connected the input from your rear speakers to 2 channels but ran the RCA's from the other 2 channels. Connect the black wire to ground. Use "posi-taps" like these or similar. Tap into your speaker wires.

Don't cut them as then your speakers won't work but, tap into them and connect the wire from the posi-tap to the inputs on the module. Observe polarity positive and negative. Then connect your RCA cables to the inputs on your amp. If you are installing a sub amp, you don't need to connect the module to all 4 speakers as it should just connect the 2 rears, and use one side of the module, or one set of RCA's.
