D'angelo was in form and I have fulfilled one of my dreams of seeing one of my music idols perform live. Thank you D'angelo and the vanguard for bringing my faith back into real music and real performers. It was worth waiting 15 years. D'angelo and Band needed a few songs, but then had the audience in their grip.
Great band, great sound, great groove, great entertainment.
And they played more than two hours! Also, a lot of old songs got rearranged, so he presented some nice interpretations of material. D'Angelo and his bands performance were legendary!

Such a great gig and the whole audience were on their feet for the whole show! The new album tracks sounded way better live and he threw in some of the old classics too including a very Funk performance of Brown Sugar! Based on this gig I wouldn't hesitate to recommend seeing him live! Great night out, great vibes from the crowd. Go and see him. The encore smashed it.
D'Angelo's band were tight in everything they played and the backing singers danced soo much it was infectious. Not a single person stayed seated the whole gig. I still have a huge smile on my face. Oh man what a concert,I've always been a fan but this just blew me away. From the minute he walked out on stage with his troupe of funkerteers D'angelo had the whole crowd up on their feet for almost 3 hours.
It felt llike you were in the presence of one of the funk gods on a level with James Brown or Prince. Tight band, musically awesome. Only problem is, songs weren't particularly memorable, he showed up late, played for an hour, made us wait 10 minutes before the encore and was off after 2 songs. Wasn't worth it really. He didn't forget his fans from the first hour with a great version of Brown sugar more than 8 minutes and untitled for 17 minutes. D'Angelo's performance was high energy the entire show.
Not one moment did I feel disappointed. I loved the way he went back and forth from new songs to old fan favs. I did miss hearing the song Lady, but aside from that, I can't wait for him to come to town again. I will definitely be in the house! D'Angelo was two hours late, which definitely received the side-eye, but beyond that Black Messiah is a phenomenal album and D'Angelo still got it!
His backup singers, the band and stage dancers were great. The crowd was feelin his energy and everyone was vibin.

D'Angelo himself has been faithful to his reputation and offered a fine and powerful performance. Glad I have been lucky enough to attend such an experience. He is such a talented artist, was on stage for nearly 2h, came back twice which I haven't seen in a while.
