Thanked Times in Posts. You mean where it hooks up to the engine? Send a private message to wildbill. Find all posts by wildbill. Thanked 1, Times in 1, Posts. Install the fitting and connect the hose making sure that the hose fits snug but does not pinch. Alternately, you can drill and tap the intake manifold.

I did some trouble shooting and tried it with no clamps, then with clamps and the same results. So after some frustration and uncertainty on if the line was kinked i took the line out and ran the gauge directly off the hookup with a two inch hose, and had the same results. If it's not reading boost and I have it hooked almost directly to the manifold, I'm lead to believe the gauge is shot.

Thanks glowshift for such a great product Also, has anyone had problems with there Pyro gauge on the glowshifts? It works fine and sweeps full, but on the bottom end I have to tap on the gauge because it gets caught up and will stay in one spot. I'm thinking the return spring is weak or this is a common problem with the gauges.

I understand they are not isspros, but they should work.

Also what is the max EGT I should see post-turbo. I can hit only about degrees and I'm sure the pre-turbo temps must be WAY hotter then that. I'm running marine injectors with a performance fuel pump, straight pipe and AFE filter. First of all your pyro should always be before the turbo. I respectfully disagree with you katden, so what your saying is that the turbo wont make boost unless you are driving or have it under a load Anytime that engine is running, your making boost regardless, the only time that your ENGINE is not receiving the boost is when the waste gate is open.

The purpose of the turbine wheel in the turbo is to drive the compressor wheel, which in turns makes boost pressure or positive intake pressure high pressure. I'm not going to get into the workings of these thing for this is not the correct trend, but I do know what I'm talking about hence I've worked for General Electric for 5 years building jet engines for Boeing aircraft. Long story short, you can read EGT pre or post. You just need to know what number not to exceed. TIT turbine inlet temp will always be hotter than TOT turbine outlet temp either way they both have never exceed points, ones just higher then the other but both gives you an accurate means for determining a temp not to exceed.

Gauge is broken, I benched tested it with an air compressor as per the glowshift tech recommendations. You apply ten PSI shop air and the gauge should read ten. Mine reads zero, so I shipped it back.

Thanks for the help guys! Boost in free rev. And my turbo spools.

I've never seen one make any boost that you can see on a 60 lb gauge unless the engine is under load. If your a boeing tech like you say then why are you on here asking for help? Free rev that truck all you want with the most expensive gauge on the market, it will always read zero.

Also keep that pyro post turbo You will not get an accurate reading post, at least enough to know when your causing damage to internals.
